Twist Helix nace en Newcastle y se define como alt-pop electrónico británico. Aprovechan la influencia de su entorno y trabajan duro para crear un sonido efervescente y alegre que desprende energía y carácter. Es la destacable voz de Bea sumada a las bases (batería de James junto con la riqueza y color que aporta Michael al bajo), lo que capta la atención de Paul Back Music hasta la noticia de la firma.
En su primer año de existencia, tocaron 47 shows en vivo y actuaron junto a bandas nacionales e internacionales, Twist Helix ha destacado en el circuito de festivales del Reino Unido (Solfest, Evolution Emerging, Worcester Music Festival, Corbridge Festival, Stepping Stones, VW Leeds, Richmond Live, Northern Electric, entre otros) ganando una reputación por sus “dramáticos y alegres” shows en vivo ( NE: MM) y desde entonces han sido nominados para un Premio UBEAT TV (Mejor Ley Alternativa). En enero de 2017, el grupo anunció su nuevo single Pulse, el éxito de esta canción llevó a una segunda gira por Europa y Reino Unido de 20 fechas en el primer semestre de 2017. Después del lanzamiento de su tercer single, Little Buildings, en julio de 2017, Twist Helix ha cosechado elogios de todo el mundo.
Comienzan 2018 con una gira completa por el Reino Unido para promocionar el que será el primer LP editado por el sello. Chispeante, alternativo y emocionante, «Ouseburn» en su estilo electro-pop será el nuevo himno de todas las pistas de baile.
Twist Helix – Born in Newcastle and defining the British Electronic Alt Pop sound; Twist Helix take influence from their surroundings and have worked hard to create an effervescent and emotive sound full of energy and character. The remarkable voice of Bea combined with the rich, colourful backing (of Drummer James & Bassist Michael) captured our attention here at Paul Back Music in the months before they signed.
In their first year of existence, the group played 47 live shows with bands on a national and international level; standing out on the UK festival circuit (appearing at Solfest, Evolution Emerging, Worcester Music Festival, Corbridge Festival, Stepping Stones, VW Leeds, Richmond Live, Northern Electric amongst others). There, Twist Helix earned themselves a reputation for their “dramatic and joyous” live shows (NE:MM) and since then, the group have gone on to be nominated for a UBEAT TV award (Best alternative band).
in January 2017, the group announced its new single ‘Pulse’, the success of which led to a further 20 live dates across the UK & Europe in the first half of 2017. This was followed by the launch of their third single ‘Little Buildings’ in July of 2017, for which the group earned international recognition.
Twist Helix start 2018 with a full UK tour to promote ‘Ouseburn’ their first LP published under the Paul Back Music label. Sparkling, alternative and exciting, ‘Ouseburn’ is quintessential Twist Helix, part electro-pop anthem and part dance hall floor filler.
